COEY

Coey
You were taken from us
and our suffering carries on
we wait a while to reunite
a lifetime isn’t very long.

Your lasting peace brings us comfort
your suffering is no more
the unknown journey is revealed
a door opens for evermore.

We played in cobbled streets
the beginning of our time
it only seemed like yesterday
happiness filled your heart and mine.

We grew up fast we wanted much
teen years came knocking at the door
our machines were clean and fast
a new adventure all the more.

Then came the day to settle down
the years rolled on our families grew
they filled our hearts with love and joy
so proud we were of children new.

Before we blinked, we had grown old
but time is out of our control
there is no turn or going back
we only have an onward haul.

Until we meet again some day
goodbye my friend it’s time to part
I thank you for the times we had
I’ve kept them safe within my heart
